August 17th is black cat appreciation day!!

Thousands of cat enthusiasts have come together on Facebook for a special Black Cat Appreciation Day.

The organizer wrote

"Black Cats are frequently the last to be adopted and are often put to sleep. I came up with this idea in the hope that opinions could be changed and the Black Cat would be a welcome addition in everyone's home! Black cats are playful, loving, and sometimes even remind you of miniature panthers with their shiny black coats! Save a life and get a wonderful friend...adopt a black cat!!"

I have 2 lovely black cats. Would not trade them for anything. They bring me the best of luck and love me unconditionally. I will get a black cat for my pet family anytime. It is unfair the way they are treated, just because of the color. They need to be given a chance, they need love too!!
